ELEMENTALS

- magic-borne people with a strong affinity for one of the eight elements (Fire, Air, Earth, Water, Solar, Lunar, Light and Dark). Said to have a symbiotic or cooperative relationship with mages, although the specifics and nature of their connection are up for debate. Can be mistaken for human until their affinity for a specific element is revealed, but many have non-human skin, eye, and hair tones.

They live in tribes in the corners of the world away from other peoples and mostly keep to themselves in a homogenous population, but the invention of fast travel and the increasing culture of integration encouraged among Spathis' peoples in recent years have made Elementals' presence more widespread in many lands.

Elementals are usually named after natural phenomena in their homelands (i.e. Jet Veld). Some are named after objects that resonate with their personality (i.e. Key), or a word in one of the ancient thaumaturgic languages.

Some Elementals live in the Celestial City Vesperia with the Divines.

Zan, the Dark Elemental prince of Vesperia, who fled from hunters - and was imprisoned in a crystal in the Arcane Experimentation Facility! But that's a story for another time...
